In 1980 Dolores Staehli(named Dolly) came on a holiday to Sri Lanka to enjoy the South Coast and
was invited by her ex-boss to renovate his guesthouse in Hikkaduwa.
After 9 month Dolly had lost her heart to Sri Lanka and decided that she will return, which she did in
1983 and opened Jungle Restaurant with 5 tables, on Poruthota Road, Negombo.
After Struggles in the Jungle and big financial losses she closed, as it was not possible for her to
obtain the property.
But ........ she did not give up and Mr. Fortune came to her in the person of Augustin, her husband now
of 13 years.
With him she runs Bijou with all the love she has in her heart.
